Anorexia Nervosa

Also see Bulimia.  It is manifested as rejection of food, resulting in severe weight loss and usually requires hospitalisation.
-    Total loss of desire to eat
-    Serious weight loss
-    Lack of appetite
-    Hair loss
-    Vomiting
-    Ceasing of menstrual cycle
-    Low blood pressure and a weak pulse.
-    Causes are nervous and psychosomatic in origin.  The belief that not eating will make a person thinner and the habitual practice of vomiting after eating (bulimia), causes the stomach to become accustomed to not working and then it closes up.
